Training description

This training is the first stage of a programme addressed to SSC/GBS managers.
LEVEL 1, BLOCK I of the SSC/GBS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY programme is made up of six modules dedicated to development of (soft) business competencies. These MODULES belong to BLOCK I entitled Leading the self.

This BLOCK consists of the following topics:
Module 1 – The business compass in multicultural communication.
Module 2 – Basics of being a leader. Self-awareness and planning life-long development.
Module 3 – Building the leader’s image and authority.
Module 4 – Strategic management.
Module 5 – Scheduling and prioritization as the way to efficiency.
Module 6 – Agility in business – antifragility and mental resilience as a fundament of modern leadership.

Each module lasts 5h and encompasses theory and a practical part.
Each module is carried out this semester according to the following schedule:

Training objectives

Training will allow the participants to:
• Better understand what is the direction of supporting functions evolution
• Learn about cultural differences when doing business with different countries (including among others management style, teamwork, communication)
• Identify opportunities linked with standardization and centralization
• Apply continuous improvement approach to achieve process excellence
• Gather the knowledge needed around technology impact (with special focus on process automation)
• Discuss and brainstorm on digital threats and opportunities

A programme dedicated to developing managers with up to 5 years of experience working in the SSC/GBS sector.

LEVEL 1 | DEVELOPING LEADER – BLOCK I – LEADING THE SELF

Framework programme
For developing leaders (Leaders with up to 5 year experience)

1st MODULE
The business compass in multicultural communication. (5 h)

1. The specificity of working in companies doing business in multicultural environments (multicultural teams, multicultural team-client relationships).
2. Managerial skills of multicultural management. Communication styles, task setting and feedback.
3. Fundamental differences: supervisor-subordinate relationship, respect for authority, perception of time and responsibility.
4. Customs, traditions, holidays, transparency, ethics.

2nd MODULE
Basics of being a leader. Self-awareness and planning life-long development (5 h)

5. Management styles and approach – Developing self-awareness as a basis for better leadership skills.
6. Conscious choice of management style adapted to personal preferences, competences and requirements related to the position held.
7. Strengthening management acumen and interpersonal skills to build effective teams in highly diverse and dispersed environment.
8. Transforming business leader into a change maker with focus on strategic vison, process optimization and high efficiency in demanding environment.
9. Decision-making and connection as two core activities of leaders.

3rd MODULE
Building the leader’s image and authority (5 h)

1. Exploring the importance of power, influence and responsibility within leadership.
2. Building trust, professional confidence, and charisma as a basis for leading efficient teams.
3. Understanding self-regulation significance and its key elements: self-assessment and self-instruction. Personal purpose and the purpose of your organization.
4. Developing long-term self-development plan: goal-setting, motivation and self-reinforcement and self-reflection.
5. Envisioning and engaging the teams in implementation of the strategic goals.

4th MODULE
Strategic Management (5 h)

1. Strategies for leading change – the role of the leader in driving change.
2. Understanding the context and setting direction for your division and organization in constantly transforming environment.
3. Communicating vision, purpose, and strategic goals efficiently.
4. Effective delegation, enforcement of tasks’ execution, and measuring the results.
5. Role of corporate culture in successful strategy execution.

5th MODULE
Scheduling and prioritization as the way to efficiency (5 h)

1. Maximizing efficiency with advanced scheduling – the relationship between effective leadership and performance in organizations. Managing your time and energy.
2. Time management principles adapted to organizational specific.
3. Self-organization and cultivating high-performing teams.
4. Focus on process optimization, standardization, and high efficacy.
5. Prioritization in the times of rapid change, high-stakes and uncertainty.

6th MODULE
Agility in business – antifragility and mental resilience as a fundament of modern leadership (5 h)

1. Increasing capabilities to thrive as a result of stressors, volatility and failures.
2. The concepts of individual and business resiliency and robustness.
3. Fostering innovation to raise the upside potential, limit the downside risk, and emerge with greater antifragility.
4. Professional approach to challenges and obstacles in ever changing business environment .
5. How to prepare for unforeseen events.

METHODOLOGY: The training is an interactive workshop with elements of lecture and practice. Classes are conducted using the coaching and workshop method with the use of modern techniques. Classes include: lecture, individual tasks, group exercises, forum discussions, case studies and feedback sessions.

Price includes:
• access to the MS Teams platform during the training,
• original electronic training materials,
• certificate.

Each person registered must have a computer or other mobile device with a built-in speaker (optional camera and microphone) and Internet access.

The above-mentioned equipment does not oblige you to share your image, it is needed in order to actively participate in the training.
